Just print off any picture you want, then spray paint a piece of wood black, cut the picture to match the size of the wood. Using Mod podge coat the wood then lay the picture on top. Once it has dried thoroughly, use sandpaper to rough up the edges, then put a layer of mod podge over the picture. Put some eye hooks and use pretty ribbon as a hanger and voila.

For the ironing board cabinet, she cut the back off a regular-size cabinet and recessed it into the wall. She then made the molding piece and attached it to the wall above the cabinet to make it look like a built-in unit. She built the fold-down, swiveling ironing board system herself from brackets and hardware she bought at The Home Depot.

This shower cleaner came from an Everyday Cheapskate e-mail, and it is truly magic, as the title states. I just tried it and it got the soap scum off my glass shower door with hardly any scrubbing. It was amazing, as I have tried to clean that door with various products. It is so easy, too. Try it and you will be sold. Be careful because a little bit goes a long way. You need a 24-oz. squirt bottle for this.

In the last few days, I have received several emails and comments asking for a “how to” on how I paint my furniture. Honestly, every piece is different but typically we do the same few steps. I will use my dresser redo to explain things since that is where the majority of the questions came from! You gals are so sweet with all of the compliments! For this piece, it was a dark wood with a glossy lacquer of some sort over top. I started by lightly sanding the dresser to remove some of that shiny junk off… I know, I sound so professional 😉 Then, I wiped off the dust from sanding. This roughened up the wood a bit and since I was using spray paint, I wanted it to stick really well. I also recommend using Gloss Off. You can get it from Home Depot and it helps the paint adhere better. Next, I removed all the hardware and put it in a sandwich baggie so I didn’t lose anything. Losing screws and hardware = not cool. Not like I’ve lost any in the middle of a project or anything 😉 Next, I took all of the drawers …
